Places to visit from these Unique Places to Stay in Dorset
From the wide-open countryside to the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, there’s no shortage of interesting places to discover and explore during your stay here.
On the county’s western coastline, you’ll find the impressive Durdle Door, a stunning coastal cliff that’s arguably one of Dorset’s most recognisable landmarks. Forming part of the Lulworth Estate which is privately owned but open to the public, this amazing rock formation sits right next to the popular Man O’ War Beach and situated just a stone’s throw from Lulworth Cove too. Whilst here, we’d highly recommend parking up at either Durdle Door or the cove before hopping onto the South West Coastal Path to get to-and-from each landmark.
On the other hand, the West Dorset coast also has plenty for visitors to see, do and explore. One place that’s well worth going to is Chesil Beach, which stretches over 18 miles across the coastline and separated by lagoons from the mainland. Easily accessed via the Isle of Portland to the east and Abbotsbury to the west, it’s one of the longest beaches in the country and makes for a fantastic place to go for long walks.
