Warmwell Lodge is a charming Grade II listed early Victorian cottage sitting at the entrance to a Jacobean Manor house within the charming conservation village of Warmwell, about five miles from county town of Dorchester.
The cottage is beautifully decorated with antiques and designer fabrics and has a contemporary interior including a stylish kitchen and bathroom.
Sleeping up to four guests and due to its location, it makes a perfect getaway for couples.
A cosy log-burner will keep you warm whilst you sit in the lounge in winter; in summer you can enjoy eating alfresco in the garden, where you can watch the local horses in an adjoining field as they happily graze.
The cottage is full of touches that the owner has added including a sympathetic colour scheme in the bedrooms along with original features such as the mullion windows at the lounge window seat, a bread oven and beams in the bedrooms.
The historic estate has breath taking views and there are several characterful properties in the village including a 13th century church just a stone's throw from the Lodge.
Visitors are welcome to stroll down the drive to the Manor House to access the various footpaths criss-crossing the estate.
Eating out locally offers a choice of options recommended by the owners of the Manor House; The Wise Man at West Stafford (approx. 4 miles), The New Inn - West Knighton (approx. 3 miles - it is possible to walk there cross-country) and The Sailors Return - East Chaldon (approx. 3 miles).
For a pub with a sea view try The Smugglers at Osmington.
The pub can be reached via a lovely walk from Ringstead beach and along the coastal path (approx. half an hour).
Do visit Lulworth Cove, just a short drive away, which is one of the most stunning parts of Dorset's World Heritage Jurassic Coastline that sits within the officially designated Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; this is the perfect location for a picnic or swim in the sea during the summer.
Visitor attractions in the area which are particularly favoured by guests include the world-famous Monkey World, The Tank Museum and for our younger guests Farmer Palmer's children's Farm.
Warmwell Lodge is the perfect location for a holiday, whether you would like to explore the World Heritage coast, take country walks or simply relax and enjoy the cottage and pretty garden.
