“A brilliant holiday facility and location.”

The warm pool was enjoyed by the 3 generations, particularly lucky to have a dry mostly sunny week. Delighted to have a large utility room to dry towels and have extra storage. I was concerned the kitchen might be dark but with 2 skylights it was a lovely light room. The children particularly enjoyed watching tractors, horses and the children waiting for the school bus from the kitchen window! We loved the free roaming chickens in the car parking area and stroking the friendly donkeys and horse ...

We loved the free roaming chickens in the car parking area and stroking the friendly donkeys and horse. We were delighted to find a full size snooker table which our 12 year old loved. The air hockey was also an unexpected bonus. Communication with Vicky was excellent.

The property

Churn House is positioned in the village of Dewlish, enveloped by the Dorset hills and peaceful countryside, an 18th century barn conversion making the most of an arable farmland setting.

Bursting with character inside, with exposed beams elevating the rooms, a coal-effect fire in the sitting room and traditional furnishings, you won't want to miss an opportunity for a quiet break with the whole family.

It is the ideal property for getting large groups together for a special occasion, wallowing in a calm environment, where ducks and hens roam on-site and nature greets you right on the doorstep.

Spend your down time wrapped around the fire in the sitting room with your nose in a book or gathered around the TV with the rest of the group.

Move through to the kitchen to prepare a family meal, with everything you could possible need in terms of appliances and storage.

There is also a dining table and traditional dresser in one corner of the room, giving the space a farmhouse feel.

Each of the bedrooms have beamed ceilings continuing the character, two of which even have zip/link beds so you have the option of twins or double.

Lastly, the bathroom and shower room can accommodate everyone, with handy fixtures and fittings.

Venture outside in the summer and enjoy your very own patio while the kids run around in the shared garden space.

Choose to swim in the on-site pool or have a round of table tennis in the games room.

Close by is the local inn, providing a friendly atmosphere, a range of beer on draft from the local area and a tasty menu.

There are also several more pubs in the area and the nearby market town of Dorchester offers shops and many different eateries.

Enjoy the delights of Tolpubble, notable for Tolpuddle Martyrs, National Trust's Cloud Hills and Athelhampton House and Gardens.

Explore the Dorset coast and find many hidden beauty spots beckoning you to the area.

Churn House is the base to choose for that much needed rest.

Note: This property can be booked with Ref. 1003646, together they can sleep 23 people.
