“Six of us had a wonderful stay at Cosy Cot.”

The cottage was clean and beautifully decorated, with a very cosy living room with a fire. Lovely garden and views of the church. We travelled to Salisbury by train and took the bus to the village. We stayed for three nights and went on various walks around the area, including to the Rainbow on the Lake pub in a neighbouring village for lunch (great food), and to Stonehenge (long walk, great views). I would recommend this cottage.

The property

OUTSTANDING!

Cosy Cot is as quintesssential an English country cottage there could ever be!

Thatched, nestling in a sweet village, oodles of period features and totally mesmerising when inside.

It is exactly as you would expect when you first catch sight of it - gorgeously romantic and oozing warmth and cosiness.

Believed to date from the mid 17th century, a huge amount of love and care has gone into its restoration, resulting a stunning place to enjoy a memorable holiday with friends or family alike.

Situated next to the historic village church with its Norman origins, you'll admire the lavish and elegant decor, all designed with guests comfort in mind as soon as you step inside.

At the same time, every ounce of its original character and charm has been carefully preserved with special features such as the inglenook fireplace with its bressumer beam and the Dining Room with its vaulted ceiling.

For an ancient cottage, Cosy Cot is surprisingly light, many of the rooms having triple aspect windows.

The downstairs rooms have underfloor heating and the bedrooms have floorboards with restored, cast iron radiators, keeping guests warm and cosy during the cooler winter months.

Interestingly, Cosy Cot was featured in the BBC series "Britain's Dream Homes", and when you stay, you will see why.

Absolutely beautiful!

About the location

SALISBURY

Andover 17 miles; Southampton 23 miles

The medieval city of Salisbury is the jewel in Wiltshire's crown, dominated by the majestic 13th century Gothic cathedral. The cathedral offers 750 years of history including Britain's tallest spire, the world's best preserved original Magna Carta, and Europe's oldest working clock. The surrounding cathedral close, full of architectural gems, is bordered by the River Avon and ancient Chilmark stone walls. The city offers historic streets with charming half-timbered buildings, traditional pubs, characterful shops and a twice-weekly market. Or, stroll along the Town Path and take in the awe-inspiring views across the water meadows towards the cathedral. After dark, there's a thriving arts scene, including one of the country's leading repertory theatres, a lively arts centre, cinema and a wealth of independent restaurants. Should you want to explore further afield then a short drive from Salisbury takes you to Stonehenge, the National Trust's Stourhead House and gardens, majestic Wilton House, as well as the New Forest National Park, and the Hampshire and Dorset coasts. There's so much to see and do in Salisbury and surrounding area that your only concern will be finding the time to do it all!
