“As four friends visiting Dorset we were delighted with the peaceful location and the house.”

It was pristine and had 3 lovely bathrooms and only 2 minutes from the pub and a pleasant 10 minute walk to Lulworth Cove. Ideal! All was well until we needed to open bedroom windows. None of which would open so consequently we had an uncomfortable first night as it was so warm. Also the patio doors would not lock. The phone number given did not allow options for reporting an issue ( why not?) so I emailed the next morning.I was contacted half an hour later and the helpful property manager said ...

None of which would open so consequently we had an uncomfortable first night as it was so warm. Also the patio doors would not lock. The phone number given did not allow options for reporting an issue ( why not?) so I emailed the next morning.I was contacted half an hour later and the helpful property manager said he would visit the property which he did. Apparently,he contacted us during the day but neither my friend or I received a voice mail or message so on returning I emailed again as apart from the patio doors the other windows still would not open. The manager phoned and told me how to unhook “the safety catch” which worked so a comfortable night! On the last day after shutting the windows for security they would not open again so another hot and frustrating night as it was too late to email again. The windows that had keys would not open either. I.e. in the top bedroom and the twin room. I hope that this issue is solved for the next guests as it was just ridiculous. On another note, we met the lovely cleaner on the way out and she commented that we should have had a welcome pack?? Is that so as I am not aware we were asked to request one if required. 13.5 tog duvets are not suitable for the summer months and when stripping the beds we noticed there was only a sheet on top of the mattress in the 1st floor double room. Not very hygienic! Due to these issues I cannot give the property 5 stars that it really deserves.

About the location

WEST LULWORTH

Wareham 9.1 miles; Weymouth 14.7 miles

West Lulworth boasts some of the most dramatic geological features on the Jurassic coastline and arguably the most photographed locations in the UK. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door sit at the heart of this area and really are a must see. Lulworth Cove has many little café’s and beachside shacks serving local seafood, ice cream and other delights, as well as several restaurants and pubs from which to choose. There is an Lulworth estate information centre which offers an insight into how the cove and Durdle door were formed and Jurassic history of the region. If you tire of Cove and cliff top walks then Lulworth Castle is a short drive away and offers another glimpse at some more recent history, along with Tyneham Village, and Corfe Castle. This is a really special area and the village retains a lot of it’s thatched cottages and has a real air of a rural retreat.
