The property

Weymouth 7.1 miles.

The Standby Generator Bunker is an impressive abode tucked away in the rural village of Ringstead in Dorset, boasting stunning sea views and a unique history.

It is located in the middle of the owner's dairy farm and one field distant from the shore, carefully renovated in the rural setting of the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Ringstead Bay near Preston.

The Bunker was part of RAF Ringstead a component of the Chain Home radar, a coastal early warning system that stretched from Cornwall in the west to Norfolk in the east.

Early in 1941, the station was put into service, and it was finally shut down in 1956.

The Bunker's Grade-II listing has been taken into consideration during the renovation, and the original concrete walls and other elements have been kept.

The property has been transformed into a wow factor home, complete with a pet-friendly policy and a beautiful woodburning stove.

Surrounded by picturesque countryside, the South face of the bunker gives the impression of having been hit by an explosion, adding to its intriguing charm and character.

Enter through the front door and be charmed by the spacious open-plan living space, where contemporary meets history seamlessly.

The urban kitchen features a large island and breakfast bar, perfect for rustling up evening meals before enjoying them around the elegant dining area with seating for eight.

Unwind in the large sitting area by the toasty woodburning stove with your loved ones, watching your favorite shows on the TV.

The property offers three inviting bedrooms to catch your night's rest; a ground-floor double with an en-suite walk-in shower, a twin room, and a ground-floor bunk bed, ideal for the little ones.

The ground-floor bathroom beckons for a relaxing soak in the bath or an invigorating shower.

Step outside through the bi-fold doors and onto the patio seating area, where you can take in the breathtaking sea views while enjoying a morning coffee or an evening drink.

At the end of the garden, a woodland awaits to be explored, adding an extra touch of charm to this already impressive home.

The woodland leads to the deserted medieval village of Ringstead and then the sea.

Discover a wealth of attractions that await you.

Just a short journey away, explore the stunning National Trust site at Ringstead Bay, perfect for scenic walks and beachcombing adventures, or indulge in a yummy meal at The Smugglers Inn, known for its warm atmosphere and hearty fare.

The Reef café is a newly renovated café on the beach carpark, serving delicious homemade cakes, coffees and teas, soups in the winter, bacon rolls, burgers and in the summer holidays, wood fired pizzas.

Further afield in Weymouth, soak up the sun at Castle Cove, stroll along the vibrant Weymouth Harbour, and immerse yourself in the local charm of Newton's Cove, where stunning coastal views abound.

History enthusiasts will appreciate a visit to Dorchester, where you can explore the National Trust's Max Gate, the former home of Thomas Hardy, or delve into the rich heritage at the Dorset Museum & Art Gallery.

Begin your magical adventure at Standby Generator Bunker.
