The property

Norden Cottage, is a characterful, three-bedroom property resting in Osmington, a small, well-preserved village on the Jurassic coast of Dorset.

The village is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) on the official inland South West coast path with walks straight on the doorstep The cottage offers off-road parking, an enclosed garden, wood burning stove, and is well-positioned to nearby amenities, Norden Cottage invites five guests and two furry friends to stay. On entering the property, you are welcomed into a sitting room, where you can relax and unwind watching movies, while you warm your toes by the wood burning stove. Dine together, sharing all your favourite memories of the holiday, after the designated chef takes a step into the well-equipped, farmhouse-style kitchen to cook up some scrumptious meals. As the evening grows darker, head upstairs to discover the freestanding bath, to soak in after a long day of exploration, and then catch your rest in one of the three inviting bedrooms.

Visit Craigs Dairy Farm, shop and tea rooms in the village, serving cream teas, breakfasts, light lunches, homemade ice cream and milk from Dairy cows in the surrounding fields.

A short drive away is The Smuggler's Inn, a 17th century thatched inn next to the sea, or The Springhead Pub and Restaurant, a few minutes in the car or a mile stroll across the fields, with views of the White Horse, a monument to King George the III cut into the hillside of Osmington in 1808.

Nearby is Weymouth, a vibrant seaside town with a wealth of attractions, shops, pubs and restaurants.

Visit the harbour, Nothe Fort, SeaLife centre and of course the stunning beach.

Visit Ringstead Bay, a two mile drive to this stunning National Trust beach, or a few miles further to Lulworth Cove and the world heritage limestone arch at Durdle Door. For a spot of shopping, visit the bustling town of Dorchester with its Museums or its newest facility Brewery Square with a variety of quality shops, restaurants and pubs. About the location

OSMINGTON

Osmington village, sits on the Jurassic coastline of Dorset, just 6 miles from Weymouth with it’s infamous beach and historic harbour and just 11 miles from Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. Home to the famous Chalk hillside carving of George III on horseback, cut into the hillside to commemorate the Royal visits to Weymouth, this landmark can be seen from miles away. It is also the place that John Constable spent his honeymoon in 1816 and where he completed his painting of Weymouth Bay that now hangs in the National Gallery. The South West Coastal path runs through Osmington Mills, a tiny hamlet on the edge of Osmington. Here many walkers start their coast path walks at the Smugglers inn, where reputedly there are historic connections to smuggling. Be sure to visit to find out all the stories. A short drive will see you reach a local convenience store at Preston. Weymouth offers a larger variety of shopping, eating and entertainment choices.

Please Note: Starter pack supplied for woodburning stove.
