Upon entering the property, you will be greeted by a welcoming open-plan area, where you can unwind after a day at the beach.
The kitchen/diner is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare delicious meals, which can be enjoyed at the dining table.
The sitting room, complete with a Smart TV and games console, is the perfect spot for a family movie or game night.
If the weather permits, head outside to your private haven for both relaxation and entertainment.
When it's time to retire for the evening, head upstairs to the two inviting bedrooms, a double and a twin, both offering a tranquil retreat after a day of coastal adventures.
The bathroom provides a space to freshen up and relax, whilst a ground-floor cloakroom is also available for added convenience.
In the morning, meander down your road to Portland Museum, where fascinating history awaits you, while the medieval Rufus Castle offers serene views over Church Ope Cove.
Embark on an adventure with Portland Dorset Tours and Excursions, where you can explore the dramatic Jurassic Coast, discover Portland Bill Lighthouse, and enjoy stunning coastal views, all while learning about the rich history and unique geology of the area.
Enjoy a sun-soaked day at the rugged and secluded Little Beach, offering you a tranquil place to bask in the sun with a good book.

A very well equipped property, probably the best we’ve ever stayed at.
Despite the hot weather the house remained cool which was pleasant. Easy access to footpaths that open out to sea views. Just a couple of things to note. The step out of the back door could be bigger and two steps would be better than one, as it’s quite a step down. Access in and out of the shower is a bit tricky if your knees and hips aren’t what they used to be.
The house was loverly with everything you needed.
The large lawned garden was tidy and private but it was let down by deep rooted weeds on the patio. The tv was a nightmare with all streeming channels needing a code and no terrestial channels only Samsung tv. If you have a large car you need a 7 point turn to turn it round in front of the house. All in all we had a loverly holiday with two nice pubs which did nice food going towards portland bill.
Mermaid Cottage is a lovely place to stay.
It is located very close to Church Ope Cove, tucked away from the main road with it's own parking space. We found it very clean and comfortable and well-equipped with everything you could possibly need. It even had sun loungers in the shed, a portable speaker, hairdryer, hair straighteners and a hair curler! The garden is lovely and peaceful. We had such a nice holiday here. There is only one tiny complaint; the vacuum cleaner only worked for a few minutes at a time, so it was difficult to clean up. It probably needs a new battery. Other than that, all good. We will definitely be booking again for next year.
