It’s ideal for our family needs and so close to the town etc . We had a problem with the heating at first but the owner came to correct it straight away. Very happy

The property

Ideally positioned in Swanage just a couple of minutes from the beach is Swanage Driftwood.

This detached beautifully presented home has five bedrooms, two private courtyard style patios and three bath / shower rooms and has been furnished to a high standard.

Beautifully decorated and furnished throughout the upside down living makes this a really special property.

Quietly tucked away and still in the heart of Swanage town.

On the ground floor is the master en-suite bedroom, a twin bedroom and a large family bathroom.

On the first floor is an open plan living kitchen dining room, a really lovely space to relax and be together as a family or group.

Prepare your meals and then sit around the large dining table together as you share stories.

Swanage Driftwood is so well placed that there is no need for a car to access the beach or town. Swanage Driftwood has also teamed up with Purbeck Retreats to offer bespoke Wellness retreats and treatments.

Purbeck Retreats will come to you to deliver a heavenly choice of luxury treatments.

Each retreat package includes a light lunch, a 45-minute spa treatment with robes and slippers, plus healthy snacks and speciality teas.

For a more indulgent experience, add a yoga session and perhaps a specialist workshop, such as mindfulness meditation or a raw-chocolate-making class.

Advance booking is essential, so give Charlotte a call for more options, details and prices on 07939 821 901 or visit purbeckretreats.com. Swanage is a family seaside resort with a fine sandy beach, good choice of shops and numerous places to eat, all within walking distance of Swanage Driftwood.

On balmy summer evenings you can enjoy a glass of wine outside in one of the many bars, on cold winter days you can huddle inside one of the many café’s or pubs that offer open fires and a friendly atmosphere.

You have a choice of high-class restaurants, good pub food, and Italian styled bistros.

Children will love building sandcastles on the main beach or crabbing along the water's edge at Peveril Point.

Step back in time as you travel on the Swanage steam railway to Corfe Castle.

Dogs can be walked for miles on the headland, which has stunning views and is less than two minutes away. However, if you wish to venture further out for a day and explore, there are many options all surrounded by the beautiful Purbeck hills and coastline.

Marvel at the scenery from the top of Corfe Castle, walk around the old Saxon walls of Wareham to the quay and perhaps take a boat trip to Poole harbour.

There are walkways and cycleways around the Purbeck countryside taking you off the beaten track.

The surfers bay of choice when the seas suit is nearby Kimmeridge Bay, for those seeking sandy dunes, Studland beach is idyllic.

The National Trust Brownsea Island is a perfect location for a picnic; catch a boat from Poole Harbour for a special day out.

The nearby attractions of Bovington Tank Museum and Monkey World are both in easy reach of the property, as are the major shopping centres of Poole and Bournemouth via the Studland chain ferry.

Swanage Driftwood would suit a large family group, two small families, or a group of friends.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £250.

About the location

SWANAGE

Wareham 9.7 miles; Poole 20 miles.

The small, family-friendly seaside resort of Swanage is situated at the eastern end of Dorset’s famous Jurassic Coast, on the celebrated Isle of Purbeck and is probably best known for its wonderful, gently shelving golden sands. The little town offers visitors plenty of shops, good pubs and restaurants, some of which specialise in locally caught seafood, and is also well known for its annual jazz festival, which takes place each July. The attractive, Victorian wooden pier offers a great place for a stroll or try fishing, and often used a departure point for divers, it’s a wonderful place to watch the world pass by. The historic Swanage Railway has its terminus in the town and regular nostalgic steam engine trips take tourists for a picturesque 6-mile journey, chugging through lovely countryside to stop just beyond the romantic ruin of Corfe Castle. Nearby Durlston Country Park offers a lovely day out with spectacular coastal walks, dolphin spotting and wildlife watching, together with comfortable viewing points and a well-stocked cafe for a treat after all the fresh air. Take the short drive to Studland, which has one of the finest beaches in the country, surrounded by heathland, together with the regular chain ferry, which crosses the mouth of Poole Harbour to Sandbanks. This truly is a delightful holiday destination at any time of the year.

Note: To get the full enjoyment from Swanage Driftwood, we would recommend a maximum of 8 adults and 2 children.
Note: On road parking subject to availability a short walk away from the property or additional parking is available in the local Pier Long stay Car park on Broad Road on a first come bases, fees apply please ask for further details.
Note: Property is situated on a slight incline.
Note: Due to the small courtyard, dogs must be exercised away from the property. The Downs are located just a two minute walk away.
