“What a gorgeous cottage, set in well cared for and beautiful gardens.”
The cottage was not without its quirks, but that all fed into the experience of staying in an old cottage. If you want something super modern, this is not the place for you, but we really enjoyed the homely feel of this well loved cottage. And the open fire was a treat. :)
Jude was also lovely, and extremely helpful with all our requests and info on the local area, which really helped us on our stay in Wiltshire. The parking is in the process of being renovated, which Jude did warn us about, but it was perfectly adequate for our stay.
The closest pub, The Dove, which is only a minute's walk away, is ok. It doesn't have a lot of atmosphere and I think the food is overpriced, but it is very convenient and the staff are friendly. The Prince Leopold in the next village, on the other hand, is well worth a visit, as is The Bath Arms near Longleat. Both of these last two were great, with excellent food quality, and much more worth the price.
We took the advice of going to Frome, Stourhead and Lacock during our stay, all of which did not disappoint.
Thank you for a wonderful stay in your beautiful cottage, Jude.
