“Bears apartment is a beautiful 4th floor well presented place with everything provided to make it a home from home feel and a balcony/apartment view with a WOW factor.”

The balcony goes all the way from the kitchen to the second bedroom with door access from the kitchen, living room, and both bedrooms, this apartment is a perfect stay for a family of four or two couples, but keep in mind there is only one key/fob which is needed for access to the apartment block and apartment. Parking is included with a dedicated space for the apartment The location is in Castletown alongside the old naval Portland port which is still in use with commercial shipping, cruise ...

Parking is included with a dedicated space for the apartment The location is in Castletown alongside the old naval Portland port which is still in use with commercial shipping, cruise liners and the portland cement so this does bring noise from the lorries coming in and out at all hours day and night, there is also opposite a helipad, that is now a SaR training centre, we had the absolute joy of being able to watch the chinook being put through its manoeuvres along with another SaR helicopter this one did do night missions at 1am so if you are a light sleeper keep all this in mind. Regarding the lifts there are two of them, it would be extremely unlucky for the two to be out for maintenance at the same time, we had no issues with them. All in all we had a wonderful time and Bears apartment is in a perfect spot for visiting along the Dorset coast, would definately recommend.

“This was our first experience of a holiday staying in an apartment, and it was accommodation we would not hesitate to repeat.”

The layout and space of the apartment was ideal, especially for two of us (a bathroom each!), and the views were to die for. We wanted for nothing. Only one quibble. No anti-slip mat for the bath ... very slippery when showering and I fell out onto the hard floor, resulting in a huge bump on my head and multiple bruises, not to mention loss of dignity!!! However, otherwise absolutely no complaints. Oh, and the lift worked perfectly.

“Lovely property, perfect location for us and beautiful views over the sea.”

Well equipped kitchen loved it and will be back. Only slight gripe is with the leisure facilities being closed sometimes and none of the mobile numbers listed as maintenance to check timings of closures being answered or numbers not in use but not the apartments fault.

“A very well appointed apartment and nicely finished.”

Excellent views from the large balcony. It is a pleasant surprise to find good quality crockery and cutlery which does not send when you try to use it. Comfortable bed is also appreciated. The apartment is great if you are happy to prepare your own meals. Eating out locally is rather limited

“A lovely, clean, well maintained and welcoming apartment with the most stunning views (I spent hours just sitting out on the balcony looking out at the view).”

Four adults in our party and we didn't have transport ....prior to arriving I wasn't sure how we were going to cope but once we were there we had no problems whatsoever. We took full advantage of a weekly group save ticket of £55 (for up to 5 people) and we travelled the whole of the Dorset coast . We had a brilliant holiday. Portland itself is steeped in history and the views are spectacular. The welcome pack we found on arrival had loads of info on the surrounding area. What can I say more except it's a lovely lovely apartment. The group consisted of four very tired and stressed older nurses in need of some respite after Avery hectic few years...we came away so relaxed ..so it's back to the wards we go. Thankyou Daphne and Matthew and dream Cottages for the best holiday

“The corridors could do with a refresh, carpets and painting.”

“The apartment was ideal for us very spacious, clean and well equipped with everything we needed.”

The weather was perfect . On arrival the en suite bathroom toilet was not working and were informed would be fixed but on leaving after a week was still not fixed ! We were given £100 to compensate but found it inconvenient to have to use buckets of water for a week to flush the loo.

“The apartment is in an amazing location, not too far into Portland, so very easy access to Weymouth as well as the whole Isle of Portland.”

The view from the balcony always gave us something to look at, and there are stunning views, and incredible sunsets. Unfortunately, the sofa was a little uncomfortable and one of the toilet flushers broke. Other than that the apartment is well equipped and spotlessly clean. There is so much to see and do in the area that suited the whole family. We had a fantastic week, and I thoroughly recommend. Thank you.

“Hi -- the flat is well situated overlooking the harbour.”

And convenient for a number of site seeing activities and the coastal path. Great to be able to have breakfast and dinner on the balcony. The kitchen has everything you need and both bedrooms and bathrooms were great. Only additional comment -- need to include mention of the parking voucher in the joining instructions and ensure the blue folder with the instructions & voucher are left out for people to find. Would definitely go back again!
