“The accuracy of the description was good.”

This is particularly important given the current temporary access route to the cottage. From a few reviews it appears that some guests have not paid due attention to the warnings. We had no problems. Cottage is well and stylishly fitted, very comfortable and clean apart from the oven.

Step inside and kick off your walking boots in the entrance hallway, before finding the bright and airy open-plan living space, presented to a lovely standard with a wall-mounted TV and electric fire, perfect for those cosy nights in.

Take a seat at the breakfast bar and keep your partner company whilst they rustle up a delicious feast, making use of the electric oven and gas hob, microwave and even a washing machine, which is sure to come in handy after a muddy walk!

As you tire, whisk away to the bedroom, fit with a sumptuous king-size bed and a refreshing colour scheme, where a travel cot can also be available should you be bringing your little one with you.

There is also an en-suite shower room where you can prepare for the day with a quick rinse, and end each day in style with your favourite drink within the garden, resting at the bench or picnic table, soaking up the good weather.

From the door there is a multitude of local walks to discover including the Priests Way, which leads you along an ancient track passing between quarries and across fields, with spectacular countryside views.

The town of Swanage can be reached in just over 2 miles and is home to the historic Swanage Railway where you can take a step back in time and enjoy a trip through the stunning Purbeck Hills, offering views of the iconic remains of William The Conqueror’s Corfe Castle.

The sandy beach is one of the main attractions of the town and the waters here are tranquil and sheltered, with the beach winning many Blue Flag Awards, as well as the Seaside Award.

Deck chairs are available for hire, as are pedalos, kayaks and sun beds, and the attractive promenade is lined with plenty of places to grab a bite to eat or sit down to a gourmet meal of freshly caught fish dishes.

About the location

LANGTON MATRAVERS

Swanage 2.6 miles; Wareham 8.2 miles.

The quaint village of Langton Matravers lies on the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset, two miles west of Swanage and 5 miles south-east of Corfe Castle. The name Langton derives from ‘long town’ and Matravers stems from the name of the Lord who once resided there. Langton Matravers Museum showcases the local history of the town, providing a complete picture of the ways in which the local stone was quarried and used. The surrounding area is very popular for walking and a number of walking trails pass through the village, including the ‘Smugglers Way’ which begins at Worth Matravers and then travels down to the coast path and back again to visit where smugglers were known to bring their goods ashore. The village is also home to a refreshment shop and a traditional village pub which hosts an annual Stone Carving and Pumpkin Festival. Resting on the outside of the village is Dancing Ledge, an old cliff quarry which offers breath-taking views of the coast. Those who are looking for adventure can even climb the rock face or coasteer at the Ledge.

Please note: The property is located on the main road through the village.
Please note: The property does have steps internal to the property as shown in the pictures.

Please note that Sea Pink Cottage forms part of the Old Malthouse School. The School site is being redeveloped and having new homes built throughout 2023/2024. The access route to this property is affected and this could impact your stay and views. Current pricing has been reduced to reflect this.
